Billions go to victims of disaster and disease. Does it really help?

Nurith Aizenman is a journalist who has covered a range of stories from health and immigration in the US to Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asia where she was correspondent for the Washington Post.  She is now NPR’s global health and development correspondent. Her reporting from the front lines of the Ebola response in Sierra Leone and Liberia tell that story in vivid, moving ways. Her focus is on the people themselves – those affected by the disease and those trying to stop its spread. She manages to find the right mix of analysis and human interest. So I am delighted she chose Ground Truth as the focus of her NPR blog this week.
